professional supervision and mentoring

all your OTs offer supervision and mentoring

Clinical supervision is fundamental to our practice and profession.  It offers essential guidance, support, and opportunities for growth, enabling fellow OTs to enhance their clinical skills, reflect on practice, and improve outcomes.   It is something that we all benefit from and is a recommendation as part of HCPC registration to ensure our professional practice.  We each offer our expertise and experience in our respective specialist areas to support other OTs in their practice and development.  Examples of the OTs we currently support range from those with extensive years in practice to newly qualified therapists.  We also support OTs working in non traditional roles.

Our supervisions involves a structured and collaborative relationship.  We will help you navigate complex cases, develop critical thinking, and adhere to best practice standards. We encourage you to reflect on your clinical work, receive constructive feedback, and identify areas for further development.  This reflective practice fosters continuous learning, which is essential for maintaining high-quality care in the ever-evolving health and social care landscape.  We work within ethical standards to promote accountability, helping you manage professional challenges, such as managing workload, dealing with difficult cases, and preventing burnout.

We also see supervision as a mentoring role, focusing on your career development and personal growth.  Alongside clinical supervision, which tends to be case-focused, mentoring addresses broader professional goals, including career progression, leadership skills, and work-life balance.

Both clinical supervision and mentoring are integral to our professional development . They not only contribute to improving clinical expertise and confidence but also support lifelong learning, leadership development, and the overall well-being of OTs, ensuring  we remain effective and compassionate in our practice.

In addition, verna also provides motivational interviewing mentoring/coaching.

If this is something that we can support you with, please contact us.  You can speak directly to your preferred OT, or email us and we can get back to you to discuss further.
