equipment and housing adaptations

As we age or experience injury or illness our home may no longer meet our needs.  We want to ensure that your home is safe, functional, supportive and reflective of you in spite of any impairment you may be experiencing.   We will assess your physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities and evaluate how you interact with your home environment.  This then identifies barriers that may hinder daily activities such as bathing, cooking, or moving between rooms.  We can then create a tailored plan that suits your unique requirements with the aim to enhance your independence, safety, and comfort.  â€‹Simple solutions might include the provision of equipment and minor adaptations such as grabrails.  Larger adaptations could include ramps for easier access, widening doorways for wheelchair users, or adapting bathrooms and kitchens to ensure safety and ease of use.  We also consider assistive technology such as voice or app activated systems, to further enhance accessibility and independence.

Beyond the physical modifications, we address the emotional and psychological aspects of transitioning to a newly adapted home.  We pride ourselves on understanding how aesthetics can be an important factor for many people and so always take this into account, working closely with providers who design beautiful and functional equipment.  We want to ensure that any changes are practical, empowering and reflect you as a person, helping you regain independence and confidence in your daily routines.

By working collaboratively with you,  your family, builders, architects and other professionals, we ensure that home adaptations are well-suited to your needs, ultimately creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes long-term well-being and independence.
