spinal cord injury

We can support you as you navigate a new life with a spinal cord injury (SCI). SCI can result in physical, sensory, and functional impairments that impact your ability to perform everyday tasks. The goal of occupational therapy in this context is to enhance independence, improve quality of life, and promote reintegration into the community through a personalised rehabilitation program. â€‹We assess your unique needs to help understand any obstacles you may be experiencing related to mobility, self-care, and participation in social, work, or recreational activities.  This understanding will then inform the most suitable interventions to support you returning to the things that are important to you.  â€‹

We can support you to develop strategies for navigating public spaces, returning to work or school, going on holidays and transport needs, including driving.  We also look at accessibility within your home and will recommend adaptations to create a safer, more functional living space.  If you are moving to a new bespoke property we can work with architects and builders to ensure that all your needs are considered.

Beyond physical rehabilitation, we provide emotional and psychological support, helping you adjust to the life changes that accompany SCI. By promoting resilience, self-advocacy, and participation in meaningful activities, we enable you to lead a fulfilling life and become active members of their communities.  â€‹Ultimately, we want to empower you to maximise your independence in everyday life and do the things that are meaningful to you.
